Why are Gettysburg, Chambersburg and Cumberland Valley included?
Because this territory follows ZIP codes, not school district lines. Several included ZIPs extend into neighboring districts. That means a family with a Carlisle, Shippensburg, Biglerville or Gardners mailing address may attend a district that is not obvious from the city name alone.
Carlisle & Cumberland County Districts
The approved calendar lists Friday, May 28, 2027 as the final scheduled student day. The district’s registration center includes requirements for new students and confirms that children must be five by August 31, 2026 to enter kindergarten.
The first student day is also an early-release day for staff development. The board-approved calendar includes all recess days, early dismissals and potential weather make-up days.

Shippensburg & Franklin County Districts
Kindergarten: staggered start on Thursday, August 20 and Friday, August 21. Families should use their assigned schedule for the correct attendance day.
The board-approved calendar lists Friday, May 28, 2027 as the last scheduled student day, with June 1–4 reserved for snow make-up days if needed.

Kindergarten staggered start: students with last names A–L attend August 19 and 21; students with last names M–Z attend August 20 and 24.
Transportation reminder: the district asked families to update student addresses and contact information by July 20 to help ensure transportation is ready for the first day. Chambersburg is also introducing the Stopfinder transportation app for 2026–27.

Upper Adams serves all or portions of the Aspers, Bendersville, Biglerville and Gardners ZIP codes included in this territory. Use the live calendar for building-level events.
