Meet the 2026 Carlisle & West Shore Family Favorites!

From the places where our kids play to the people we trust with their care, these are the businesses, organizations and community spaces local families showed up to celebrate.

Once upon a time, “the best place in town” meant somewhere with great cocktails, flattering lighting and absolutely no children’s menu. Then we had kids.

Now we judge restaurants by how quickly the fries arrive, parks by bathroom proximity, doctors by whether our children voluntarily walk through the door and coffee shops by how effectively they can resurrect us after someone announced at 2 a.m. that their sock “felt weird.” Our standards have not disappeared. They have simply become much more practical...and possibly more dependent on snacks.

That is exactly why these Family Favorite Awards matter. Parenting comes with approximately 47 decisions before breakfast, and recommendations from other local families can save time, money and the occasional public meltdown. These winners and Village Standouts are the places, people and programs families throughout Carlisle and the West Shore trust to make life easier, healthier, sweeter and a whole lot more fun.

Carlisle & West Shore families, you understood the assignment. You nominated. You voted. You told your friends, your customers, your dance moms, your baseball group chats and probably at least one unsuspecting relative who thought they were only opening Facebook to look at birthday photos.

And now, after carefully combining three former voting regions into our two new publications, checking locations, reviewing overlapping categories and counting every eligible vote, the results are finally here!

These awards are powered by local families. Businesses did not pay to appear on the ballot, and recognition was not sold to the highest bidder. These are your nominations, your votes and your Family Favorites.

Sponsored listing disclosure: Some honorees have upgraded their recognition to include sponsored directory listings. Sponsorship and paid listing upgrades had no impact on nominations, voting, placement or award results.

A quick note before the confetti flies

Some original ballots used broad combined categories while others offered more specific choices. We kept as many meaningful categories as possible and did not automatically pour every vote into a category that asked a different question. Ties are celebrated together.

About ties: A tie designation means the results fell within a 2% margin of error. It may represent a statistical tie rather than identical vote totals.

One special note: Though just outside our region, Camp Penn was approved as a West faith-based camp winner because of its overwhelming support and extraordinary community engagement during voting. Likewise, Kate McCord Photography earned extraordinary support across several photography categories but technically falls just outside our licensing area. We are recognizing Kate McCord as the overall photography winner and preserving each specialized category for its own honorees.
