We have been super excited for the new Ghostbusters movie since seeing the previews in theater several months ago! Our family saw it in the theater and I planned on purchasing it as soon as it came out. I was very happy to host a Ghostbusters Party!
This past Friday, we had the Ghostbuster's Screening Party at Create-A-Palooza! We did some ghost ornament painting, ate some pizza and settled in for the movie and snacks. Myself and my guests had the chance to watch Ghostbuster's before it was available on DVD. A Ghostbuster's Party is a great idea for a fun Halloween event for the tweens and teens in your life. I found several party ideas on Pinterest and you can check them out here. Some of my favorites are the green slime and green slime popcorn. Both are very simple yet fun!
Ghostbusters stars 4 of the funniest ladies in entertainment, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. The group saves Manhattan from an invasion of ghosts all while developing a bond with each other and becoming better friends. Our family was laughing throughout the movie and my guests seemed to enjoy it as well. There were some references and cameos from the original Ghostbusters movie which the adults enjoyed since we grew up watching the original. The visual effects really caught the attention of the whole audience!
Ghostbusters Answer the Call is rated PG-13 so please use discretion as to what age is watching. It is recommended for ages 9 and up. The movie does discuss ghosts and there are some in the movie but I wouldn't say that the movie is scary. My children are 5 and 9 and were not scared of the ghosts. They both really enjoyed the movie. There are only a few swear words throughout the movie.
Ghostbusters Answer the Call is available on digital and DVD now! There are over 3 hours of deleted scenes and gag reels that are just hilarious! The DVD includes a 15 minute extended version that has not been seen in theaters. Visit www.getghostbusters.com for more information!
