Summer is a time for introduction and enrichment at King’s View Acres. Our summer programs are designed to introduce new students to the joy of horseback riding, enhance the learning of our intermediate riders, and challenge our advanced riders. It is also a great time to meet and make new friends. Summer camps and clinics at KVA are bigger than our School Year Programs - allowing students to have fun in a less focused format. This summer, we will offer group lessons, private lessons, and camps - something for everyone!!

This camp is open to anyone of any level who has not attended a KVA class yet. Various instructors will meet the students where they are ability wise. Students will work on horsemanship skills - leading and handling the horses, grooming, tacking properly, health care and nutrition. Riding skills will also be addressed - proper use of seat and leg aids, proper use of reins, balance and coordination. Participants will also learn about parts of the horse, colors, etc. Students will play games and make horsey crafts, too.

Students will be required to wear long pants, shoes with a small heel, and bring a water bottle and a packed lunch.

Cost:  $250 per week (no South Middletown Discounts)

Times: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, Monday through Thursday

Dates:  June 24-27; July 22-25; August 5-8

Full day add on option - Students may add on additional hours to their camp day.  Instruction will end at 12:30, but students can stay for the rest of the day.  There will be supervised activities such as grooming horses, barn chores, feeding,  etc. Campers will need to be picked up around 5:00 pm.

Cost:  Additional $175 per week

NOTE: Please confirm that your child can attend camp prior to registering. Refunds and exchanges are NOT available due to limited openings

The Horsin’ Around program is for ALL youth, not just horse lovers.  Many students have started our program without specific interest in horses.  All of these students had an excellent time and ended the program with a higher sense of self and a unique partnership with a horse.  Many are repeat attendees!

Red Devil Basketball Camp

Camp Director Alan Seretti will oversee all daily activities and will be assisted by his experienced camp staff. The camp staff consists of current and former college coaches and players. Campers will be supervised at all times. Our goal is to allow campers to have a great time while giving them the opportunity to improve all fundamental basketball skills.

Fundamental Instruction: Coach Seretti and his staff focus on small station groups and the basic fundamentals of ball handling, passing, shooting and defense.  For safety purposes during these challenging times, your camper will be working with his team and coach throughout the day to receive this instruction.

Competitive Games: Every day at camp will include team games including 2-on-2, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 play all used to practice and develop the skills learned during station work.  This summer, we will schedule these games appropriately to balance the normal fun & competitiveness of camp with the safety necessary for these times.

Races & Contests: Team races will be used as a daily warm up and a contest a day will occur including, but not limited to: Free throw contest; 1-on-1 contest; Hot Shot contest; etc.

Big Shot & Half Court Shoot-out: The half court shoot-out takes place every session before lunch and can result in free Miseno's pizza for the entire camp! The Big Shot contest rewards the best listeners and hardest workers each day with a chance to win Dickinson College gear and other prizes.
